بہت ساری کتب بہت مشہور ہوتی ہیں اور حوالہ دینے کے کام آتی ہیں کہ ہم نے بھی یہ پڑھ رکھی ہے ۔اس کتاب کو پڑھنے سے پہلے منصور حلاج کے بارے میں جتنا علم تھا، پڑھ کر اس میں نہ کمی ہوئی نہ اضافہ ۔ شاید میرے لیول سے بہت زیادہ اورنچی کتاب ہے اسی لیے سر کے کئی فٹ اوپر سے ہی گذر گئی

یہ میرے نزدیک کوئی بہت معرکۃ الآرہ کتاب نہیں ہے پر عمر خیام کے ساتھ ساتھ حسن بن صباح اور اسکی جنت ارضی کی بھی کچھ جھلکیاں ہیں اس میں۔ میں جانتی ہوں ناول حقیقت نہیں ہوتے، لیکن تاریخی شخصیات سے وابستہ ناول بہت ساری زیب داستاں کے ساتھ ساتھ چند فیصد حقیقت پر بھی مبنی ہوتے ہیں۔

اور اگر عمرخیام کے ساتھ وہی کچھ ہوا تھا جو اس ناول میں ہے 

توبہت دن تک دل کے ایک گوشے میں ماتم برپا رہے گا۔

نواب آف بھوپال سلطان جہاں بیگم یعنی عابدہ سلطان کی دادی اس کتاب کا ایک بہت اہم کردار ہیں جو تقریباً آدھی کتاب پر حاوی نظر آتی ہیں۔ ایک گھریلو لیکن بہادر خاتون جنہو ں نے بھوپال پر لمبے عرصے حکومت کی، نہ صرف ریاست کے معاملات درست رکھے بلکہ گھریلو ذمہ داریاں بھی پوری کیں۔ جنہوں نے شہزادی عابدہ جسے وہ "میری عابدہ" کہتی تھیں کی تربیت کی ۔ عابدہ کو قران خود پڑھایا مع ترجمہ ، ساتھ ہی فارسی کی تعلیم بھی خود ہی دی۔

Long Walk to Freedom by Nelson Mandela

Its a biography of one of my most favorite personalities "Nelson Mandela" that brings the reader into the huts of poor Africans and make him feel the hardships these people suffered from. The reader faces the sanctions imposed by white minority on black majority, it makes him fight with the blacks against the whites, it takes the reader inside the prison with the great Mandela, liberate him of white opperssion alongside the blacks and wins freedom and equality for him as a participant of the African Freedom Movement. That's it !!!!!!!!!!!!

"Tracking Marco Polo" by Tim Severin

This book is travelogue/ research paper of Tim Severin and his 02 fellows on the tracks that Marco Polo covered in his world travel. They went to all those places that were visited by Marco Polo and Marco Polo mentioned these places in his travel accounts. They traced all those places as well as articles that have been recorded by Marco Polo. Unfortunately they could not visit China. However, the account is quite interesting and informative regarding Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan. I personally like the segment that describes the Fake Paradise established by Hassan Bin Sabbah who first time used suicide bombers to assassinate head of the states.

Rumi's Daughter: Muriel Maufroy

If Rumi n Shams Tabrezi were in present age, they would have been blamed of being Homosexuals, and Shams Tabrezi would have been punished for Child Marriage as well as for Child Sexual Abuse as per this novel's info ;)
